Where Did The Weekend Go?

We definitely had a wonderful time this weekend!  Friday night we just hung out at home and watched a little tv.  I let DJ stay up Friday night and Saturday nights since there is no school the next day.  We both fell asleep around 10:00.

On Saturday, we had a birthday party to go to.  My cousin's son was turning 3.  It was great, there was about 10 kids there and my cousin barbequed.  The pool was up and my son was the only one in it most of the time.  There was the usual pinata (sp?) completed with goodies for all the kids (and adults, too!)  I wound up staying later then I expected.  My mom brought DJ home with her to spend the night and I called my Partner In Crime.

We decided to hit the movies (yes we are old and boring to boot!)  We both wanted to check out Day After Tomorrow.  Excellent movie.  Spectacular special effects.  An edge of your seat kind of movie.  After that was over, PIC wanted to see Mean Girls.  It was cute, but could've waited to see it on video.

After the movies we couldn't figure out what we wanted to do.  You can tell we're old.  Saturday night, 12:00 and we couldn't think of not one thing to do!  That's what happens when you have kids!  We wound up driving down center city.  The climax of the evening was when PIC saw MTV crews and the next seasons Real Worlders walking down the street.

Mr. Big had wanted me to stop over Saturday night.  I blew him off though since I was with PIC.  I really don't like to do things like but he blew me off so many times so I shouldn't worry about returning the favor.  He's not upset (like I care:)

Sunday was fun.  I picked up DJ and we picked up our pool passes from the office.  PIC dropped by and we all went to the pool for the afternoon.  I picked DJ up some swimmies (inflatables that go on your arms) on Saturday night.  I'm glad I did because he did need them.  The water was just a tad higher than his mouth.  He wanted to try without swimmies in 3ft so I took them off.  I turned to talk to PIC for one brief second and he's sputtering because he got his face wet.  I'm trying to teach him how to put his face in the water.  He hates getting his eyes wet though.  He always has.  I swear I'm going to have him swimming before the summer is over!

DJ has a dentist appointment today.  It stinks.  I had good teeth all my life and I was hoping it would pass down to my son.  No such luck.  He has to get 2 crowns.  Can you believe it?  Now mommy is brushing the teeth every morning.  I'm hoping all goes well.  The dentist isn't sure how he's going to do.  DJ was diagnosed with Asperger's Disorder (a form of autism) a few months ago, and they are afraid he won't be able to sit still.  They said the laughing gas will only hype him up more so they refuse to give it to him.  I just KNOW they won't be able to numb him up.  Once DJ feels pain, that's it for him!  If that happens, I'll have to take him to the hospital and have them admit him so they can put him to sleep and do the fillings.  I really hope it doesn't come to that.  Poor baby.  It's going to be a rough one today!
