Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus

So, I've mentioned Mr. Big before.  We dated for almost 2 years.  Broke up a few times and always wound up back together.  Too many obstacles to overcome.  Mostly on his part.  He's a really nice guy but he drove me up the wall.  So we ended it this past December.  Or to be more specific, I did.

We see each other almost every day.  Say hi, yada, yada, yada.  Nothing serious.  We've both moved on.  We're not jumping on that roller coaster.  He works on Wednesday up by my apartment complex.  I was having problems with my central air.  I really couldn't call maintenance because I have a cat and it's a No Pet policy.  I asked to come over and check it out.  It turns out that my love seat was too close to one of the vents and the air circulation wasn't working properly.  He hung out a little bit and then he left.

He's been asking me to stop by his place because his computer isn't working properly.  Well, actually his internet connection.  I told him to call me.  He has some issues with keeping appointments - one of our issues.  I figured I wasn't going to make plans with him and have him call me 1/2 before and say he was tied up.  Been there, done that.  So I tell him to call me when he's free and if I'm free, I'll drop by.  It seems like he wants to nail me down for a time so we agreed to Sunday.  I told him to call me.

Last night after much channel hopping (see previous post), he calls.  He forgot he has to work on Sunday and he was wondering if I could stop past early in the evening instead of during the day.  (Boy, this is sounding familiar!)  It really doesn't matter to me and again I told him to call me when he's ready.  If I'm able to come over, I will.  Then we talked for a bit and his phone started to die so we hung up.

Don't you know he calls me back around 12?  I'm wondering what the heck is up.  He wants to know how my apartment feels.  Why?  I don't know what's going on.  We talk for a bit.  My dad had just come home from work (my dad moved in with me last month) and I said I was going to run out this all night place to pick up a cheese steak.  He wants me to scoop him up on the way cuz he's kind of hungry too.

I pick him up and we get some steaks, hang out, watch a movie, then I go home.  Men.  I don't understand them.  They don't know what they want.  Or they do, then the mess it up.  It's like they don't know what they want until you're gone.  This was the basis of our whole relationship.

For today, I think DJ and I are going to hit the supermarket.  I need some tomatos.  I LOVE tomatos.  I really LOVE tomatos.  Plus, I want to pick up a couple things.  I've been lazy this week for dinner.  We've been eating sandwiches every night for dinner.  I think I'm going to cook a meatloaf tomorrow night.  Then I can have some leftovers for lunch next week.

As I'm typing, I'm sitting here watching The Ring.  One of my all-time favorite moves.  I've seen this movie so many times.  I still remember the time I went to see it at the movies.  Me and my best girl went.  I forget what we originally were going to see but it was sold out.  She says let's see the The Ring.  She told me it was about a videotape that kills people.  I was like great, another stupid ass horror movie.

A little background.  I love horror movies.  Love them.  Her and I have spent years and countless hours asking people what their scariest movie they ever seen and then renting it.  It was always a letdown-for the both of us.  We've been looking for a scary movie forever and it's just not out there.

We buy tickets for The Ring.  We sat there scared shitless.  Grabbing each other, scratching each other.  After the movie was over we just looked at each other.  We then go to an all night diner because we were both too freaked out to go home in the dark.  This movie creeped me out for weeks after I first saw it.  I was so into this flick, I went on Ebay.  Purchased all three Japanese versions and the Korean version.  If you liked the Ring, I'd suggest you'd look these up.  My favorite, of course, is still the American version.
